Hair transplantation is generally performed to address hair loss or baldness. The FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method involves extracting follicular units from the donor area (back of the head and above the ears) without cutting or stitching and transplanting them to bald areas the same day using micro-surgical tools. Successful FUE hair transplantation requires careful post-operative care.

Do not wash your hair for the first 2-3 days after the procedure. Follow the doctor's instructions regarding the waiting period. Use prescribed medications regularly to reduce infection risk and speed up healing. Avoid saunas, steam baths, strenuous exercise, and sleeping face down. Sleep with your head elevated. Also, consume meals rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals.

In the first week, scabs may form in the transplanted areas; do not pick them off; wait for them to fall off naturally. Protect your scalp from direct sunlight by wearing a hat or beanie. Minimize alcohol and smoking during this period.

After one month, you can gently wash your hair with the recommended shampoo and lotions. Use a hairdryer on a low setting or gently towel dry your hair. Massaging the transplanted area can enhance blood circulation and support healing, but get your doctor's approval first. Some of the transplanted hair may fall out within the first month, known as shock loss. This is normal and not a cause for concern. New hair typically begins to grow between 3-6 months and fully develops within 12-18 months.
